Army Mom in Arizona

While David was in San Antonio learning how to be an army dentist, the kids and I lived in my parents basement. It was a challenging separation for me since we left our Virginia family and we were in-between moves. It was a blessing to have my friend Jenna there since we were in the same boat. Our families let us have a break so we went to a cooking class and had a shopping trip. Breaks were needed. The kids decided they were tired of listening to me and slept a lot less. We all missed David terribly. I am happy to say we made it through it all and we are grateful for all the time we had with family and friends this summer.

Arizona highlights

  • Slip and slide, starting out with a demonstration by my Mom
  • Produce from the garden.
  • Rhett turned two and shared a party with Grandpa on Father's day.
  • Claire and Preston turned 6 and made pizzas with cousins.
  • Swim lessons at Stapley Jr. High.
  • Preston and Claire braved the waterslides and diving boards for the first time.
  • King family reunion in Colorado.
  • Girl's night with my best friend Amber.

What a dramatic boy, making faces while eating berries.

He loves babies.

My parents made us some Cafe Rio dish, yum.

Rhett loved his party.

My Mom and Aunts had crafts for the kids.

My Aunts and Uncles sure worked hard to put this together, we were a big group to feed.

Rhett and I watched the Rico 4th of July parade, their fire station was favorite.

My Grandma and Grandpa ran a ranch in Colorado named Circle K.   Lots of family members represented our heritage.

This picture is blurry, but it shows how much fun the kids were having waiting for fireworks.  It was so cold, so Pres borrowed an awesome coat from someone a lot smaller than him.

  1. It looks like you had lots of fun with family, and how fun you got to hang out with Jenna too. I'm sure you are glad to be back with David. I love seeing pictures of your little family, we miss you! I love that photo of your mom going down the slip and slide. That will be you in 25 years, you silly girl!
